Understanding Animal Reiki
Reiki comes from the Japanese words Rei (spirit) and Ki (energy). It is the Universal Life Force present in all beings — humans, animals, and nature itself. Reiki is awakened through an Attunement, a sacred ceremony where a Master Teacher sets a focused intention, opening the student’s ability to channel Reiki energy. Practitioners then send Reiki to support natural self-healing. Reiki energy is intelligent, safe, and always aligns with the recipient’s highest good.
Animal Reiki connects your animal companion to their own self-healing energy, promoting relaxation, balance, and vitality. It can be practiced with domestic, farm, or even wild animals — and always honors the animal’s pace. Animals guide the session; we never force Reiki. Sessions can support physical discomfort, stress, anxiety, fear, or trauma, while strengthening the bond between you and your animal.

Distance Reiki
Animals are not limited by physical proximity. Reiki can be sent across space, making distance sessions a powerful and gentle option.
Many animals are more receptive in their familiar environment, where they can:
-
Relax deeply
-
Move freely without social pressure
-
Engage or disengage naturally
-
Integrate the experience
Because Animal Reiki is consent-based, your animal chooses how much energy to receive and for how long. Many caregivers find distance sessions just as effective — and sometimes even more subtle and profound — than in-person visits.
For real-time guidance and feedback, Live Virtual Reiki sessions via Zoom is recommended.

How a Session Works
Every animal is unique. Some welcome energy immediately, while others need time to observe and warm up. I follow the animal’s cues, boundaries, and natural pace.
Before scheduling, we determine whether a Distance Reiki session or live virtual one is best. Physical touch is not required for effective Reiki, and distance sessions are just as powerful as in-person visits. Safety and comfort for all involved are always prioritized.
Animal Reiki complements veterinary care but does not replace it.

During the Session
Animals lead the experience. They may approach, rest, move away, or engage intermittently — all responses are honored. Sometimes an animal’s answer is “not now.” If I travel to your location, session fees apply regardless of engagement, covering preparation and travel time.
In-person sessions may include a brief grounding Reiki experience for the caregiver, if welcomed, to support you while your animal receives care.
